This amazing plant produces thick leaves with corkscrews at the end of each leaf. The grow from a bulb planted just below the surface of the soil. Leaves appear in early Autumn and remain until the next Spring when they should be allowed to dry out and enter Summer dormancy. Tall upright flower spikes appear in late Autumn and produce large green flowers for 2-3 months.
Water well during the cooler months and let them dry out during summer dormancy. They require bright sunlight to produce the small tight curls in the leaves and do well in a really bright spot indoors or outdoors protected from frost.
They will not do well in low light or warm environments, they thrive on sunlight and cool conditions.
Most are currently in flower, but some might not be.
