Philodendron Erubescens ‘McColley’s Finale’ – Colour-Changing Philodendron
Philodendron erubescens ‘McColley’s Finale’ is a compact hybrid known for foliage that changes colour as it matures. New leaves emerge orange to red, move through coppery tones and gradually settle into glossy green.
Why You’ll Love It ✔️
✔️ Appearance – New growth shifts from orange-red through copper to green.
✔️ Growing Appeal – Compact, vigorous growth works well in indoor displays.
✔️ Point of Difference – The changing leaf colour keeps the plant visually different throughout each growth cycle.
Care Tips
🌞 Light: Bright indirect light is ideal for healthy growth and strong colour; avoid harsh direct sun.
💧 Water: Allow the upper layer of the mix to dry before watering thoroughly and draining freely.
💦 Humidity: Average to moderate humidity is suitable; a humidifier can help in very dry rooms.
🌡 Temperature: Best between 18–28°C; protect from cold drafts.
🌱 Soil: Use a chunky, free-draining mix of coco coir, coco chip & perlite.
🪴 Support: A small moss pole or totem can be added as stems lengthen.
🌿 Fertiliser: Controlled-release fertiliser is included in the potting mix; a balanced liquid fertiliser can be used during active growth.
🚫 Toxicity: Toxic if ingested; keep away from pets and children.
A colourful Philodendron whose newest leaves provide a constant warm-toned highlight.
We get a lot of questions about how our shipping works, so here’s a simple breakdown 🌿📦
Our shipping rates are charged per box, with each box able to fit up to 8 × 75mm potted plants.
As a general guide:
• 75mm pots make the best use of space, with up to 8 plants fitting in one box
• 100mm pots take up more space, so a box will usually fit around 3 plants depending on their size and shape
If your order requires more than one box, the website will automatically add the additional shipping charge.
For example:
• Up to 8 × 75mm plants = 1 box
• Larger 100mm plants use more box space and may reduce the total number of plants that fit in each box
