Spathiphyllum ‘Sensation Variegata’ – Variegated Giant Peace Lily
Spathiphyllum ‘Sensation Variegata’ is a variegated form of ‘Sensation’, one of the largest peace lily cultivars. Its big, glossy, ribbed leaves are streaked and marbled with creamy white from the midrib outwards, and every leaf carries its own pattern. This tropical foliage plant from the aroid family keeps the easy-going nature peace lilies are known for and adds bold variegation that collectors want. With time it can grow into a statement indoor plant over a metre tall.
Why You’ll Love It ✔️
✔️ Eye-catching variegation – Cream and white streaks run through deep green leaves and are at their most vivid in bright, warm conditions. They give the classic peace lily a fresh, modern look.
✔️ Easy-going indoor plant – It is forgiving and adaptable, and it droops visibly when thirsty, then bounces back after a drink. That makes it a rewarding variegated plant for beginners and experienced growers alike.
✔️ Big-leaf statement – ‘Sensation’ is one of the largest peace lily cultivars, so this variegated form grows into a lush, full feature plant rather than staying a small tabletop specimen.
Care Tips
🌞 Light: Bright indirect light, and the brighter the spot, the better the colour. Gentle morning sun is fine, but avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the white sections. Variegation is strongest in very bright light and warm conditions. In cooler months or lower light, the plant can look mostly dark green. This is a normal seasonal change, not reversion, and the variegation returns as temperatures and light levels rise.
💧 Water: Water when the top few centimetres of mix begin to dry. Keep it lightly moist but never soggy, because overwatering can cause yellowing lower leaves and root problems. Drooping leaves are a sign it’s ready for a drink.
💦 Humidity: It copes with average household humidity but does best at around 50% or higher. A humidifier helps the large leaves develop fully and reduces brown leaf tips.
🌡 Temperature: 18–27°C is ideal. Keep it above 12°C and away from cold draughts and air-conditioning vents.
🌱 Soil: Use a well-draining mix of coco coir, coco chip & perlite. It holds enough moisture for this thirsty plant while letting excess water drain away.
🌿 Fertiliser: Controlled-release fertiliser is already added to the potting mix. During spring and summer, add a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength every few weeks. Avoid overfeeding, which can cause brown leaf tips.
🚫 Toxicity: Toxic to pets and people if chewed or eaten. Like other peace lilies, it contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth and throat, so keep it out of reach of curious cats, dogs and children.

A standout way to bring light, contrast and lush greenery to your indoor jungle.
A note on colour: This plant’s variegation changes with the seasons. It is brightest and most defined in very bright light and warm weather. In cooler months, cooler climates or lower light, plants can look mostly dark green, with little visible variegation. This is a natural seasonal response, not reversion, and the plant has not lost its variegation. The cream-white colour returns as temperatures and light levels rise. Because of this, plants dispatched in cooler months may look greener than our photos, additionally if you're in a cooler climate you can expect the variegation to naturally fade unless you can provide the light and warmth required.

We get a lot of questions about how our shipping works, so here’s a simple breakdown 🌿📦
Our shipping rates are charged per box, with each box able to fit up to 8 × 75mm potted plants.
As a general guide:
• 75mm pots make the best use of space, with up to 8 plants fitting in one box
• 100mm pots take up more space, so a box will usually fit around 3 plants depending on their size and shape
If your order requires more than one box, the website will automatically add the additional shipping charge.
For example:
• Up to 8 × 75mm plants = 1 box
• Larger 100mm plants use more box space and may reduce the total number of plants that fit in each box
