Tillandsia Usneoides - Spanish Moss – Cascading Air Plant
Tillandsia usneoides, commonly known as Spanish Moss, is a trailing epiphytic bromeliad made up of fine silver-grey strands that grow without soil. It can be suspended, draped or mounted where bright filtered light, regular hydration and good airflow allow the cascading growth to develop naturally.
Why You’ll Love It ✔️
✔️ Appearance: Fine silver-grey strands form a soft, flowing curtain of foliage.
✔️ Growing Appeal: It grows without potting mix, making it easy to display suspended or mounted.
✔️ Point of Difference: Its long cascading epiphytic growth creates a texture unlike conventional potted foliage plants.
Care Tips
🌞 Light: Bright indirect light or dappled shade is ideal; avoid prolonged harsh direct sun.
💧 Water: Thoroughly soak or rinse the strands regularly, then shake off excess water and allow them to dry with good airflow before the next watering.
💦 Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity; a humidifier can help indoors provided airflow remains good.
🌡 Temperature: Aim for 15–28°C and protect from frost and prolonged cold.
🌱 Soil: No soil is required; this is an epiphyte and should be grown suspended or mounted rather than buried in potting mix.
🪴 Support: Hang freely, drape over a branch or secure loosely to a suitable mount without compressing the strands.
🌿 Fertiliser: Use a dilute bromeliad or air-plant fertiliser occasionally during active growth, following the product label.
🚫 Toxicity: Reliable species-specific pet-toxicity data is limited; avoid ingestion and keep out of reach of pets and children if chewing is likely.

We get a lot of questions about how our shipping works, so here’s a simple breakdown 🌿📦
Our shipping rates are charged per box, with each box able to fit up to 8 × 75mm potted plants.
As a general guide:
• 75mm pots make the best use of space, with up to 8 plants fitting in one box
• 100mm pots take up more space, so a box will usually fit around 3 plants depending on their size and shape
If your order requires more than one box, the website will automatically add the additional shipping charge.
For example:
• Up to 8 × 75mm plants = 1 box
• Larger 100mm plants use more box space and may reduce the total number of plants that fit in each box
