Aglaonema Commutatum ‘China Red’ – Rich Red Tropical Foliage

Aglaonema commutatum ‘China Red’ is an upright tropical foliage plant grown for its red-dominant leaves with contrasting green margins and markings. The colour gives it strong presence in an indoor display, while the self-supporting growth keeps the plant neat and easy to position.

Why You’ll Love It ✔️
✔️ Appearance: Red foliage with contrasting green detail creates bold year-round colour.
✔️ Growing Appeal: Its tidy upright habit suits indoor pots and mixed foliage displays in warm, bright indirect light.
✔️ Point of Difference: ‘China Red’ offers a red-dominant palette that stands apart from more heavily green or silver Aglaonema selections.

Care Tips
🌞 Light: Bright indirect light is recommended; lower light may reduce colour intensity and harsh sun can scorch foliage.
💧 Water: Allow the upper few centimetres of mix to dry before watering again, and avoid prolonged waterlogging.
💦 Humidity: Average indoor humidity is suitable; a humidifier can help when conditions are consistently dry.
🌡 Temperature: Aim for approximately 18–28°C and protect from cold draughts and frost.
🌱 Soil: Use a free-draining mix of coco coir, coco chip and perlite.
🌿 Fertiliser: Controlled-release fertiliser is included in the potting mix; supplement lightly during active growth if required.
🚫 Toxicity: Aglaonema contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and can cause irritation if chewed or ingested; keep away from pets and children.

Foliage colour, speckling and pattern can vary naturally between individual plants and leaves.

A strong choice for adding warm red colour without needing a flowering plant.

Pot Size: 75mm
Shipping Availability: Nationwide

We get a lot of questions about how our shipping works, so here’s a simple breakdown 🌿📦

Our shipping rates are charged per box, with each box able to fit up to 8 × 75mm potted plants.

As a general guide:
• 75mm pots make the best use of space, with up to 8 plants fitting in one box
• 100mm pots take up more space, so a box will usually fit around 3 plants depending on their size and shape

If your order requires more than one box, the website will automatically add the additional shipping charge.

For example:
• Up to 8 × 75mm plants = 1 box
• Larger 100mm plants use more box space and may reduce the total number of plants that fit in each box
