Alocasia Odora ‘Batik’ – Variegated Elephant Ear Alocasia
Alocasia odora ‘Batik’ is a stunning tropical foliage plant prized for its large, upright leaves decorated with intricate mint-green, cream and silvery-white variegation. Its irregular marbling and delicate, batik-like markings create a beautifully painted appearance, with each new leaf developing its own unique pattern. Combining bold Elephant Ear foliage with striking variegation, this distinctive Alocasia makes a spectacular feature plant for warm indoor spaces and tropical collections.
Why You’ll Love It ✔️
✔️ Appearance – Large, glossy green leaves feature beautiful mint, cream and silvery-white marbling, creating intricate patterns that vary from leaf to leaf.
✔️ Growing Appeal – A strong, upright tropical aroid that develops impressive foliage and makes a striking feature plant as it matures.
✔️ Point of Difference – Its distinctive batik-like variegation creates a finely patterned appearance, offering a beautiful alternative to Alocasias with solid green foliage or larger blocks of variegation.
Care Tips
🌞 Light: Bright indirect light is ideal. Good light supports healthy variegated growth, but protect from harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the lighter sections of the foliage.
💧 Water: Water when the upper portion of the potting mix begins to dry. Keep lightly moist during active growth while avoiding constantly saturated conditions.
💦 Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. A humidifier can be beneficial in dry indoor environments.
🌡 Temperature: Ideally 18–30°C. Protect from cold temperatures, sudden temperature changes and cool drafts.
🌱 Soil: Use a loose, chunky and well-draining mix containing coco coir, coco chip & perlite to provide good moisture balance and root aeration.
🌿 Fertiliser: Controlled-release fertiliser is already added to the potting mix. A balanced liquid fertiliser can be applied occasionally during active growth.
🚫 Toxicity: Contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and is considered toxic if chewed or ingested by pets or children. Keep out of reach.

We get a lot of questions about how our shipping works, so here’s a simple breakdown 🌿📦
Our shipping rates are charged per box, with each box able to fit up to 8 × 75mm potted plants.
As a general guide:
• 75mm pots make the best use of space, with up to 8 plants fitting in one box
• 100mm pots take up more space, so a box will usually fit around 3 plants depending on their size and shape
If your order requires more than one box, the website will automatically add the additional shipping charge.
For example:
• Up to 8 × 75mm plants = 1 box
• Larger 100mm plants use more box space and may reduce the total number of plants that fit in each box
